Workforce Development drafts unemployment rules
May 25, 2017
Iowa Workforce Development has drafted rules to implement legislation passed in 2017. The legislation increases the amount an individual must earn before becoming eligible for a second consecutive year of unemployment. The rule also makes administrative changes to the unemployment insurance division of IWD such as requiring employers and employees to file reports electronically. Finally, the rule conforms Iowa’s rule related to overpayment of benefits to the statute. Click here to read the eight-page rule. It will go before the Administrative Rules Review Committee at the June meeting.
