Session overtime continues

The Iowa Legislature just finished the third week of legislative overtime. No floor action took place in the Iowa Senate. The Iowa House debated and amended the final standings appropriation bill. The House amendment added some policy language but also removed language from the Senate. The amendment to the Senate bill passed on a party-line vote and is now expected to go to conference committee. Legislative leaders continue to work on final policy and budget agreements. At this time no agreement has been reached, and we are still not clear when session will adjourn. Stay up-to-date by reading the newsletter each week.
