Sales tax exemption goes before administrative rules committee Friday

The rules to implement HF 2433 as it related to the exemption on supplies used in manufacturing will receive review by members of a legislative committee on Friday. The Department of Revenue will present their rules to the committee and take questions about the draft. ABI staff has reviewed the rules and will be at the meeting to observe and comment on issues that affect members. The rules do also provide examples for when an item may be considered exempt, or not exempt. Click here to read the rule. Remember that although the rules are not final, supplies used in manufacturing are exempt from sales tax.
