Iowa Workforce Development board meets

The Iowa Workforce Development Board is meeting in Ottumwa today. The board has a full agenda including an update on the Department of Labor’s approval of the state implementation plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Members on the board also received information about the Irving vs. Employment Appeals Board, a Supreme Court decision that could have a broad spillover effect for Iowa employers. The Iowa Workforce Development board is chaired by ABI Executive Committee member John Krogman. The board has become much more active under the direction of Iowa Workforce Development Director Beth Townsend. ABI staff will continue to keep you updated on any action taken by the IWD Board.
