Federal Spotlight: U.S. Chamber regulatory report highlights burden of unfunded mandates

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently issued a report that examines the ongoing burden of unfunded mandates on states from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). According to the U.S. Chamber, states administer 96.5 percent of all federal delegated environmental programs, yet federal grants to the states fund no more than 28 percent of the amount needed to run the programs.
