Federal spotlight: Trump takes many executive actions and orders in first week

President Donald Trump began the first full week of his term with numerous executive actions and orders. Since Monday, he has ordered federal agencies to ease the burden of the Affordable Care Act, imposed a freeze for federal hiring for some agencies, withdrawn the U.S. from the Trans Pacific Partnership, reinstated the “Mexico City Policy,” which is a ban of federal funding to non-governmental organizations that perform or promote abortion, signed orders to reinstate the Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines, and ordered the construction of a border wall on the southern border.
