Federal Spotlight: Obama proposes unemployment expansion

Last week, President Obama proposed expanding unemployment benefits that states currently receive. Some of the expansions include requiring 26 weeks of benefits, extended benefits for “trailing spouses” or family situations and temporary workers. Parts of the proposal also include positive policies to address current workforce needs. More information will be available during ABI’s monthly Legislative Update Teleconference on Friday.
