Federal spotlight: BAAD Tax Coalition
June 15, 2017
A broad coalition of businesses and trade associations around the country is working to defeat any proposal from Congress that would increase taxes on advertising. The Businesses Against the Advertising (BAAD) Tax Coalition was formed to support small- and medium-sized businesses that are the backbone of the American economy. Right now, a business may deduct 100 percent of their advertising expenses. An ad tax could potentially cut that deduction in half. This would harm companies by increasing costs on advertising budgets or forcing businesses to cut their budgets, which would lead to less sales and fewer jobs.
