Federal Spotlight: ABI Signs onto NAM Supply Chain Letter

May 13, 2022

ABI recently added our name to a letter spearheaded by our federal partner, the National Association of Manufacturers. The letter encourages the leadership of Congress to include key supply chain language in the final version of the America COMPETES Act. The letter specifically highlights support for the Manufacturing Security and Resilience Program and other critical provisions included in the supply chain resilience subtitle of the House-passed American COMPETES Act.

Both the House and Senate have worked on competing versions of legislation to enhance manufacturing supply chains, spur an increase in semiconductor production and foster additional scientific research in key areas to strengthen domestic manufacturing. A conference committee of members from the House and Senate has recently convened with the goal of hammering out a compromise bill that can pass both chambers later this year.
