Federal spotlight: ABI joins letter urging regulatory accountability

January 19, 2017

ABI has signed onto a letter urging the U.S. Senate to consider and pass the Regulatory Accountability Act. The House passed H.R. 5 the Regulatory Accountability Act (RAA), by a bipartisan vote of 238-183 and now the letter urges the Senate to do the same.

The letter states, “We believe that federal regulations should be narrowly tailored, supported by strong and credible data and evidence, and impose the least burden possible, while implementing congressional intent...The Senate has a unique chance to bring real structural reform to the way agencies adopt the most costly rules that fundamentally change our nation.”
