DOR Update on State Tax Deadlines

April 30, 2020

The Iowa Department of Revenue issued a reminder on Tuesday that although certain tax deadlines have been extended by Gov. Reynolds and the department, there are a number of important deadlines that will hit very soon. The first quarter installment of tax year 2020 estimated income tax for taxpayers filing on a calendar year basis is due today, April 30. Sales tax returns and payments and income withholding returns and payments are due as normal unless they have been deferred under the Iowa Small Business Relief Program. Applications for deferral under those programs are still being accepted through today. The deadlines that have been extended are Iowa income tax returns, Iowa franchise tax returns, and credit union moneys and credits tax confidential reports, which now have a due date of July 31, 2020.
