Department of Revenue rules final

The Iowa Department of Revenue has finalized rules that require employers with at least 50 employees to electronically file W-2 and 1099 forms by January 1, 2017 for tax year 2016. Beginning in 2018 for tax year 2017, all filers must file the forms electronically. The department may extend the exemption to file electronically until 2019 for certain taxpayers.
