Consumables bill passes house subcommittee

ABI President Mike Ralston spoke to members of a three-person subcommittee on Wednesday, about the need forHSB 174. This bill will exempt items consumed during the manufacturing process from sales and use tax. Members of the subcommittee also heard from other organizations, ABI member companies and the Department of Revenue about the need for the legislation. Rep. Guy Vander Linden (R-Oskaloosa) chaired the meeting and, like last year, will be the individual to run the bill in committee and on the floor.
