Broadband legislation advances in house

Broadband legislation proposed by Gov. Terry Branstad has been passed by a House subcommittee. House Study Bill 104 will now go to the full House Commerce Committee for consideration.  Last week, the Senate also had a subcommittee meeting to discuss both the Governor's bill and a similar bill authored by Sen. Steve Sodders (D-Marshalltown).  The Senate did not pass the bill out of subcommittee, but we anticipate another meeting will take place soon.
