Air quality funding addressed in subcommittee
March 26, 2015
The ABI environment committee and staff have spent a lot of time following and helping solve the DNR’s Air Quality Bureau funding problem. On Wednesday afternoon, a House Ways and Means subcommittee held a hearing onHouse Study Bill 219, a companion bill to Senate File 382, which has made it through Senate Natural Resources and Environment and is now in Ways and Means. ABI has been working with DNR and other stakeholders to develop an amendment. The amendment is almost complete and will create additional legislative oversight and add fee caps to the bill. Both the House and Senate have expressed interest in working with ABI to add these provisions before the bill moves forward.
