March 31, 2022

This week, Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announced that the absentee ballot request period for the upcoming primary election is now underway. Iowa’s primary election is scheduled for June 7.

County auditors can start mailing these absentee ballots on May 18. If you want to vote absentee by mail, you must request it through your county auditor’s office by May 23.

May 18 also marks the day county auditors’ offices will be open for in-person absentee voting, which is allowed through June 6.
