ABI Files Lawsuit Against Waterloo Over Ban The Box Ordinance

Last week, ABI filed a petition against the city of Waterloo for the city’s criminal history ordinance that was passed late last year. You have read about this issue in past editions of the weekly newsletter. The lawsuit follows a letter that ABI submitted to the city during the discussion phase stating the violation of state law and requested they reconsider the ordinance, but the council moved ahead and finalized the ordinance.
