Regional policy meetings underway

The regional policy meetings kicked off Tuesday with a large crowd in Waterloo at the Tech Works Campus. We appreciated Steve Dust, Executive Director Greater Cedar Valley Alliance & Chamber hosting ABI members and guests. It was also a treat to have UNI President William Ruud in attendance and we are grateful for the partnership and resources the Alliance and UNI provide to ABI related to workforce.

ABI members also convened in Des Moines today to hear from public policy staff about the 2016 session and provide feedback for issues in 2017. Discussion in Des Moines centered on water quality, education, cybersecurity and workers’ compensation. 

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday in Cedar Rapids at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. Another meeting was recently scheduled for June 7 in Council Bluffs. Lunch will be served at both meetings. Click here to register.
