Unemployment Rate Continues to Decline
March 31, 2022
Iowa’s unemployment rate fell again for the second month in a row. Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) reported that the state’s unemployment rate fell to 3.5 percent in February. It was 3.7 percent in January.
The number of unemployed Iowans also decreased for the second month in a row.
“February’s jobs report is a strong sign that our economy continues to move in the right direction,” Director of Iowa Workforce Development Beth Townsend said in a release. “More Iowans are returning to the workforce and finding new jobs, many with higher wages than they earned pre-pandemic.”
