President Obama visits Des Moines

On Monday, President Barack Obama visited North High School in Des Moines for an education affordability town hall meeting. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan also attended and answered questions along with the president. Nicole and Zach joined several members in representing ABI at the event. The president’s opening comments were focused on the new Department of Education website, College Scorecard, which gives students access to many different kinds of data including cost, graduation rate, and average starting salary. After his opening remarks, Obama and Duncan took questions from the audience ranging from Obama’s opinion on the 2016 presidential candidates stances on education to immigration.
