Iowa Unemployment Rate Slightly Drops In May
June 25, 2020
Iowa Workforce Development announced last week that Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 10.0% for the month of May. In April, the unemployment rate was 10.2%. There were 168,100 Iowans out of work during the month, which is approximately 20,000 less than the month of April. Initial unemployment claims continue to pull back as well. With businesses continuing to reopen, it’s very likely the unemployment rate will continue to fall as we move over the course of the summer. Read IWD’s news release.
