Governor Branstad's priorities introduced

Several of the Gov. Terry Branstad’s priorities have been assigned to legislative subcommittees with a few additional bills still to be introduced. The governor’s bill to address the skilled workforce shortage and align education, workforce and economic development policies - also known as Human Capital Enrichment Advisory Council -  was introduced Wednesday. In Gov. Branstad’s Condition of the State address he mentioned his efforts to eliminate bullying in schools. House Study Bill 39/Senate Study Bill 1044 includes a mentoring pilot program, additional protections for cyber bullying, parental notification and off-school grounds enforcement. The Governor’s proposal on expanding broadband infrastructure and Iowa Next should be introduced early next week.
