Feedback requested: Department of Transportation proposes rule changes

The DOT is conducting a required five-year review of all of its administrative rule chapters and seeking feedback on Iowa DOT Administrative Rule Chapter 20, which pertains to procurement of equipment, materials, supplies and services. Members are encouraged to review the proposed changes and provide feedback on how they could affect your business. Some of the changes include the following:
- Added definitions for solicitation, response, bidder, and professional services
- Amended paragraph concerning protests to state that the protest must be in writing and must be received by the director or purchasing within seven days after the contract award has been posted
- Updates Iowa Code references for Duties of the Director and Competitive Bidding
