Federal Spotlight: Trade legislation clears Senate

June 25, 2015

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed Trade Promotion Authority and sent the bill to the White House for President Obama's signature. The U.S. House approved the same bill last week. This fast-track authority is important as negotiations continue on the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. ABI and many members have been vocal advocates of both TPA and TPP. Expanding free trade will create more business opportunities for Iowa companies.

ABI President Mike Ralston wrote an op-ed in support of free trade expansion, which appeared in the Sioux City Journal. Click here to read his column.
