ABI Represented at Regional Chamber Government Relations Meeting
November 2, 2017
ABI staff member Brad Hartkopf attended a U.S. Chamber of Commerce regional government affairs meeting in Chicago last week. The three-day conference included panels, breakout sessions and speeches from some of the most influential policy advisors in the business. The conference allows professionals from chambers and business associations from across the country to learn best practices from one another when working to enact a pro-business agenda in each person’s respective community or state.
One of the highlights of the week included listening to former CIA Director, NSA Director and retired four-star General Michael Hayden speak about the challenges and opportunities of the current geopolitical landscape. Another highlight was hearing from Neil Bradley, senior vice president and chief policy officer for the U.S. Chamber, discuss the latest on tax reform and other key policy initiatives in D.C. Several vital issues to the business community were discussed at a very detailed level, which included tax reform, trade, infrastructure, workforce, education and immigration reform. If you would like to learn more about the issues discussed at the conference, please reach out to Brad at bhartkopf@iowaabi.org.
