110th day of session one week away
April 23, 2015
The Iowa Legislature’s 110th day of session - the day lawmakers’ daily expenses are cut off - is one week away, but it is certain legislators will surpass the self-imposed deadline. Iowa House Republicans released their budget targets this week, which you can read more about here. The targets are substantially less than the Iowa Senate and Governor’s proposals. However, the Iowa Senate is moving forward with their appropriations bills, and once passed, they are expected to be amended by the House. In addition to budget bills, there are still a few policy bills remaining to be debated.
