Governor Reynolds has been a champion of pro-growth policies during her time in office. Last night, she laid out another bold, pro-business agenda during her Condition of the State Address.
For decades, ABI members have highlighted Iowa’s uncompetitive unemployment insurance tax on employee wages when compared to our neighboring states. Governor Reynolds highlighted that disparity in her condition of the state last night. We applaud Governor Reynolds for her continued commitment to getting Iowans back to work and being a good steward of Iowa’s employer-funded unemployment insurance trust fund. Her leadership has allowed Iowa to lead the country when it comes to getting people back to work. Because of that, there is nearly $2 billion in the unemployment trust fund. ABI is grateful the Governor is focused on helping Iowa businesses keep more of their hard-earned money to reinvest in their people and operations. We look forward to working with Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Legislature to continue to make Iowa more competitive.
