Spring 2025: ABI's Public Policy Impact and Key Events Ahead

January is behind us, and we are now in the thick of the legislative session and ABI’s public policy advocacy work on behalf of members. As you have read in past newsletters and blogs, ABI is not a political organization, but our public policy work is some of the most important work we conduct each year.

There are many reasons ABI’s public policy work is successful; from our expert public policy professionals to the political action committee and grassroots organizing tool. However, the main reason for ABI’s success is YOU. Literally hundreds of members showed up and participated in January at the legislative reception where many of you had the opportunity to begin to develop a relationship with your local elected official and statewide agency directors.

ABI will once again hold an event in March for you to hear the latest from the Capitol and engage with members at Business Day in Des Moines. You’ll hear from invited guests Governor Reynolds, legislative leaders of both chambers and both parties, you’ll hear a national political update, and more. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with these leaders, with fellow ABI members, and you’ll hear the latest about ABI issues and programs. It’s an exciting time at ABI; members are engaged and event numbers are increasing as we lead up to the Annual Conference.
