Exploring North Iowa: ABI Visits Stellar Industries, Plas-Tech Tooling, and More!

ABI’s own Kelsey O’Connor and Levi Lefebure hit the road May 11-12. The first stop on their trip to north Iowa was Garner. While in town, Kelsey and Levi got the chance to connect with former ABI Chair and President of Stellar Industries, Dave Zrostlik. Dave was kind enough to offer his time in providing a tour of Stellar’s Garner operations.
Following that, the ABI duo connected with Dean and Andrew Sonquist of Plas-Tech Tooling, Inc. Plas-Tech recently began using a cobot to assist in their manufacturing process and is currently undergoing an expansion of their operations.
As a night cap, Kelsey and Levi attended the Winn-Worth Betco 30th Anniversary celebration at the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, IA. Iowa Economic Development Authority Director Debi Durham was the featured speaker.
Friday morning, the cohort headed to Forest City, where they got a chance to see ABI Board Treasurer Chad Reece, who serves as Winnebago Industries Vice President of Government and Industry Relations. Kelsey and Levi then toured Winnebago’s facilities. Following that tour, they headed to Mason City where they were able to connect with the new President and CEO of the Mason City Chamber of Commerce, Colleen Frein.
