Manufacturing Leaders Recognized at Statewide Event

In its second annual Legends in Iowa Manufacturing event, Elevate Iowa, a program of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI), recognized leaders in manufacturing at an awards dinner Monday night. Nearly 200 people attended the event at the Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona.

Awards were presented to the following individuals, companies and organizations:

  • Bruce Tamisiea, President of Tecton Industries in Spencer, won the Legend of Manufacturing award for companies with fewer than 100 employees.
  • Roger Hargens, President and CEO of Accumold LLC, located in Ankeny, won the Legend of Manufacturing award for companies having between 100 – 300 employees.
  • Paul Gregoire, Vice President of Global Human Resources of Emerson Fisher based in Marshalltown, was awarded the Legend of Manufacturing award for companies with more than 300 employees.
  • John W. Norris, Sr. former President of Lennox founded in Marshaltown, received the Posthumous Legends award.
  • Mark Hanawalt, President of United Equipment Accessories in Waverly was chosen as the 2015 Legends Manufacturing Champion.
  • Sarah Dvorak, Vice President of Operations at Kreg Tool in Huxley was honored as the Elevate Ambassador of the Year.

“As one of Iowa’s largest industries, manufacturing contributes $31 billion annually to the state’s economy,” ABI President Mike Ralston said. “It’s an honor to recognize the founders and leaders of these amazing Iowa companies, and to thank them for the outstanding contributions they make to our state.”
