Business Horizons offers exciting professional experience for high school students this summer

DES MOINES – The Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation is currently accepting applications for Business Horizons, a weeklong program where high school students learn about career opportunities, the business world, teamwork, leadership and personal development.

Business Horizons will take place June 28-July 2 on the Central College campus in Pella. Students who apply soon will receive priority consideration and an $85 discount on registration. Applications will be accepted until mid-June or until the program is full.

During Business Horizons, students will work with a team to develop a product, design a marketing plan and present their proposal to an investor panel made of volunteer business people, similar to the popular ABC show, Shark Tank. Students will also participate in a business simulation, visit local businesses, hear from expert speakers and attend fun evening activities.

Participants will interact with professionals, get helpful tips from corporate leaders and meet other students from across the state. Some students attend to learn about the business world, others come to seek career direction, meet new friends or experience life on a college campus. Business Horizons also offers a Media Track for students interested in journalism, writing and communications. No matter what the motivation, Business Horizons is a fulfilling experience for any high school student.

Students may apply by downloading an application online at www.businesshorizonsiowa.org and submitting it to the ABI Foundation by mail, email or fax. Please contact the ABI Foundation with any questions regarding the program at 515-235-0570 or info@businesshorizonsiowa.com.
