BIPAC endorses Iowa state Sen. Joni Ernst for U.S. Senate

Largest U.S. grassroots business network identifies “pro-prosperity” candidate

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, BIPAC— the Business-Industry Political Action Committee— has endorsed Iowa state Sen. Joni Ernst for U.S. Senate. Ernst, a Lt. Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard, is running in the Republican primary and has a proven record of fighting for economic growth policies in the Iowa Senate.

BIPAC’s endorsement means that there was broad consensus amongst BIPAC members and Iowa state and local employers and business organizations that Ernst will be the strongest advocate for growing America’s economy, creating jobs and increasing economic prosperity. BIPAC offers endorsements of candidates only when such broad consensus exists amongst local, state and national business organizations and employers.

“Sen. Joni Ernst has a proven record of supporting pro-growth policies in Iowa,” said BIPAC Prosperity Project Chairman and former Iowa Congressman Thomas J. Tauke. “She helped pass the largest tax cut in Iowa history and rolled back job-killing regulations while in the state Senate. In Washington, she will help implement the same types of policies and priorities that have helped create a strong economy and lower unemployment in the Hawkeye state, bringing jobs to Iowa and making sure more of her friends and neighbors have good jobs.”

Ernst has scored an average rating of 95 percent on the Iowa Prosperity Project voting record, showing her commitment to economic prosperity. As a result of the endorsement, BIPAC’s Action Fund will make a contribution to the Joni Ernst for U.S. Senate campaign as well as solicit contributions from its membership on her behalf. Additionally, BIPAC will provide Iowa employers the tools to directly engage employees about issues important to growing the economy.
