Anderson joins ABI as Vice President, Member Development and Programs

Mike Ralston, President of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, is pleased to announce Kathy Anderson will join the organization as Vice President, Member Development and Programs.

Anderson will be responsible for leading ABI’s operations with regard to member development, revenue and programming.

Anderson has worked at the Iowa Economic Development Authority for the past nine years, most recently serving as program manager for Home Base Iowa, the state’s effort to recruit transitioning service members and veterans to work in Iowa. She also has been the IEDA lead for the annual Iowa SMART Conference, Iowa’s largest statewide economic development conference.

“Kathy is a talented and experienced leader and I know she will be a valuable asset to the association and our members,” Ralston said. “We are excited to welcome her to the ABI team.

“We had many great candidates for this position, what set Kathy apart was her statewide network of contacts, her track record of leading a program from startup to success and her experience leading major events,” Ralston said.

Anderson grew up in Marion, SD, and graduated from the University of South Dakota. Prior to joining the IEDA she worked for Reidy Communications, a boutique public relations firm serving the technology industry in San Francisco, and as Vice President of Government Affairs and Transportation for the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce.
