The 2016 Advanced Manufacturing Conference is bringing together experts to provide insight and advice on the top challenges and opportunities facing Iowa manufacturers today, from utilizing new technology to finding new markets.

The Advanced Manufacturing Conference, hosted by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, will take place Oct. 4, at the Meadows Events and Conference Center in Altoona. Manufacturers from across the state also will gather the night before to celebrate icons in the industry at the Legends in Manufacturing Awards Dinner.

Marci Rossell, former CNBC chief economist and finance speaker will deliver the keynote speech. Rossell served as the popular, lively chief economist for CNBC in the months immediately following Sept. 11. She delivered insight on the financial turmoil that followed in a way that was interesting and easy for viewers to understand. She will provide expert analysis on the economy in the run up to the Presidential Election.

Attendees also will hear from motivational safety speaker Richard Hawk, who helps companies create cultures that emphasize safety by developing habits that eliminate accidents.

Workshops will explore issues important to all Iowa manufacturers, including new technologies, streamlining processes, and regulatory changes.

“The Advanced Manufacturing Conference is a valuable investment for all of Iowa’s manufacturers and companies that do business with them,” ABI President Mike Ralston said. “It is a great opportunity to connect with peers, learn from experts and celebrate this iconic industry.”
