Leadership Iowa to Visit Dubuque March 7-8

Forty leaders from across the state will visit Dubuque March 7-8 as part of their eight-month journey in Leadership Iowa, Iowa’s premier issues-awareness program hosted by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) Foundation.
During their visit to Dubuque, participants will delve into topics related to healthcare in Iowa. The two-day session will be held at a variety of local venues including the Hotel Julien, Backpocket Brewery, and National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. The group will also have opportunities to visit and tour A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co., MercyOne Dubuque, Medical Associates, Convivium Urban Farmstead, Crescent Community Health Center, and the Hills & Dales Autism Center.
Mayor Pro Tem Ric Jones (City of Dubuque) will welcome Leadership Iowa to the community on Thursday morning. Additional speakers sharing their expertise with the group throughout the session include Dubuque Public Health Director Mary Rose Corrigan (City of Dubuque), Debbi Butler (Brain Health Now), Mae Hingtgen (Mental Health/Disability Services of the ECR), Laura Keniston (University of Iowa Healthier Workforce Center), and Dr. Michael Peroski (Medical Associates). Leadership Iowa will also hear from Kay Takes, President at MercyOne Medical Center, and Zach Keeling, CEO at Medical Associates, while on their visit to each facility.
On Thursday afternoon, ABI will also host a Connecting Statewide Leaders event that will include the Leadership Iowa class and members of the Dubuque community. The event will feature an engaging discussion on moving Iowa healthcare forward with speaker Dr. Jennifer Olson (MercyOne Medical Group). Both the event and networking lunch are sponsored by Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) and ITC Midwest.
